LONDON — Item three concerns the species' handling of internal disapproval. By the desk's count, the dominant local primate has produced one influential practitioner, Misan Harriman, a British Nigerian photographer and activist whose images of global protests are credited with driving social change. On 8 October 2026, the transmission service Al Jazeera broadcast a documentary on his work, "Shoot the People: Global Activism through Misan Harriman's Lens." The desk has reviewed the material and files the following.
Finding 3.1: the documentation phase is fully operational. A grievance, once massed, is photographed within minutes and distributed faster than the policy it concerns. The images are technically excellent. Finding 3.2: the remediation phase has no start date. The same grievances return each season and are photographed again, each cycle better composed than the last, a sequence the species performs without instruction. Recurrence risk: high.
"We used to have a grievance and then a photograph of it," said Dr. Helena Marsh, Senior Fellow in Civic Optics at the London Institute of Applied Outcry. "Now the photograph comes first and the grievance is mostly a caption. It saves time."
The photographs are also collected by their subjects, which the desk initially logged as a clerical error. "The department depicted in them bought three prints for the lobby," said Colin Pettifer, its Deputy Director of Public Engagement. "The purchase was approved at the top, by our chief executive — the dominant primate of the corporate troop. It shows we listened. We consider the lobby a deliverable. The prints arrived before the review did."
Remediation has been placed on a waiting list, which the desk understands to be the queue of the queue; the desk has not located the first queue and suspects the species has not either. The working group responsible has met twice since the photographs and produced an agenda for a third meeting. Outcomes are logged on Form R-2, Deferred, the only local form issued with the box already ticked. The desk's earlier finding on this behaviour, 2.4, "Species Assembles Between Landmarks, Documents Itself, Adjourns," remains open.
The documentation phase is graded Excellent, with a distinction in lighting. Remediation is scheduled for a quarter the species has not yet named; the desk has provisionally allocated Q5, which does not exist locally, making it the only quarter with no backlog. Decision of the desk: the lens is exempt from further review, and the species may keep assembling for it. Remediation will be assessed next quarter, in higher resolution.
